Fraserburgh Academy School Uniform
Although many young people continue to wear our school uniform there has been a noticeable increase in learners who do not. The wearing of uniform is a visible sign of belonging to the school, and research has shown that wearing uniform improves attitude, encourages a positive mindset to learning and promotes equality. In addition, the wearing of school uniform prepares young people for the world of work where a uniform or dress code is very often mandatory.
Fraserburgh Academy School Uniform
• black or white shirt and tie OR plain black, white or red polo shirt, no logo
• plain black or red cardigan or pullover, no logo
• black trousers, tailored shorts or skirt.
• S5-S6 pupils are expected to wear a blazer as part of their uniform.
• Blazers are optional for S1-4 pupils.
Learners who are participating in a trip or school event MUST wear school uniform, including a tie.
No uniform – no trip/participation in event.
Hats are not permitted to be worn in school. Crop tops are also not permitted.
We have a very large stock of new uniform items in all sizes available for no cost to any young person who needs this. Please see your Guidance Teacher.
To find out if you qualify for a clothing grant please visit this link
https://www.aberdeenshire.gov.uk/schools/school-info/assistance/school-clothing-grants/
We understand that parents may not wish to buy new uniform items until the start of the new session in August, so from 3rd June we are looking for all learners have the basic minimum of a shirt, tie, appropriately coloured cardigan or pullover for the remainder of this term.
Please note that P7 pupils will be issued with a school tie on their visiting days.
Orders for blazers can be placed with Designs On You, 46 Mid Street, Fraserburgh, AB43 9EP – tel 07814 580692.

They raised an amazing £5,325.58 which was divided equally between CHAS (Children's Hospices Across Scotland) and The Archie Foundation. Well Done everyone.
The S1 team made it two wins in a week after an excellent comeback victory against Mintlaw Academy in the Aberdeenshire League.
It was a tricky first half and Mintlaw started very well. We went into half-time losing 3-1 but a change in formation and a blistering and high intensity second-half performance meant the game ended in a 7-4 win to Fraserburgh!
Goal scorers were Cole (3), Logan W (2), Reuben and Cooper.

Teacher Costume Competition 2024
5 pupils from Fraserburgh academy will travel to Germany to form part of team Scotland to compete in the International Combat Organisation, ICO world championships on October 11th-14th. Kenzie Watt (K), Aaron Watt (K), Millie Duthie (M), Quinn Duthie (M) and Alycia Mackay (K) help form team Scotland, who will compete against other teams from around the world in kick boxing and boxing.
Kick boxing is a contact hybrid martial art and boxing type sport. It takes discipline, builds confidence and improves mental and physical well being. Fraserburgh Fitness centre (team satorishido) provides boxing, karate and kick boxing classes and if anyone would like to come and try these classes they will be more than welcome to come and join their friendly team or visit the gym and see what it’s all about.
Aside from their regular training sessions weekly, the team have put a lot of hard work into training sessions in Fraserburgh, Perth and Glasgow to train with the rest of the team, and also fundraising - which has saw a total of 14 fighters with some of their coaches from Fraserburgh raise a total of £19,000.00 for their trip and fight entries!! This is a huge achievement to be offered to go to Germany as part of team Scotland and something I’m sure they are all incredibly proud of and will remember for a long time.
From all at Fraserburgh Academy we wish you the best of luck! We will all be looking forward to hearing how they got on in Germany… Go team Scotland!
Laren of House Faithlie earned a gold medal for 25m front crawl and 25m backstroke at yesterday’s swimming gala in Fraserburgh!
HOUSE POINTS AWARDED
Well Done to the Senior team who progressed to the next round of the North East Scotland Cup after a comfortable 4-0 win over Banff Academy. It was a great display from all players in their first match as a team. The scoreline reflected the pattern of the game and we were worthy winners. We played the game in the right way and represented the school in an excellent manner.
Congratulations to the players who have been selected to represent Aberdeenshire in the National Trophy competition this season. This is a great achievement – well done! Fraserburgh Academy has the most players represented in the senior team out of any other school in Aberdeenshire.
Players: U15 - Team Hugo Watt Seniors - Flynn McKay, Theo Watt, Billy Jones, Will Sim, Remiguisz Piertzak, Owen Pearson
Well Done to the U13/S1 team who progressed to the next round of the North of Scotland Cup after an impressive 8-4 win over Thurso High School. It was a fantastic performance in very tricky conditions and a great victory in their first game for the school. Everyone played their part in securing the win and putting us into the next round against Kemnay Academy. The Thurso HS coach was very complimentary of our players effort, application and behaviour too.
Congratulations to Anna Lipka, Lily Davies & Maisie Hendry for a successful presentation to the Fraserburgh Rotary as they raise funds for Project Infinity’s expedition to Paris to represent Scotland at the OECD.
